The Women's Platform for Peace in Casamance and MIW launch the report ‘Forgotten women, silenced violence: The realities of access to care for disabled survivors in Simbandi Brassou, Sédhiou, Senegal’ 

Co-written by Khadidiatou Rassoule Gueye, Programme Officer, Women's Platform for Peace in Casamance, and Sophie Pécourt, Making It Work Coordinator,  Humanity & Inclusion, with the cooperation of disabled women and girls in Simbandi Brassou and resource persons who answered our questions, this report highlights the extent and severity of violence suffered by disabled women and girls in a context where such violence is trivialised, accepted, or even denied by the community.

May 2025 - Mubende Women with Disabilities Association MUDIWA published its report "Echoes of hope for women with psychosocial disabilities in Kassanda, Uganda"

It is the 3rd volume in the Making It Work "Voices of" Collection.

The African Disability Protocol was adopted in 2018 by the Africa Union. It gives an unprecedented protection to persons with disabilities with a gender and age perspective as never before.

 

This is the 2024 updated policy review aimed at measuring the level of inclusion of women with disabilities in the national policies addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV). From 27 African countries in 2020, we have now updated and analyzed 31 policies.
