Yetnebersh Nigussie, Senior Inclusion Advisor for Light for the World and personnally committed with the Technical Advisory Committee of the MIW Gender and Disability Project has been awarded the prestigious Right Livelihood Award 2017, widely referred to as the ‘Alternative Nobel Prize’, for her determination to ensure that people with disabilities are never left behind.

The MIW Gender and Disability project is moving forward: Good Practice Holders from Latin America are working on their scaling strategies, and we have received 28 applications from Africa, which are being reviewed by the Technical Advisory Committee.

This video presents our workshop on scaling strategies, gathering Latin American Good Practice Holders, from the Making It Work "Gender and Disability" project.

On June 13th, we will take part in a side-event at the COSP. One member of our gender and Disability project will discuss access to sexual and reproductive health and rights for women and girls with disabilities.

The CRPD was adopted 10 years ago. Its 6th article mentions specifically the rights of women and girls with disabilities, and was celebrated during a conference organized by Women with Disabilities Art and Culture Network.
